Health conditions

The World Health Organization defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity." Health conditions, like illnesses, injuries and impairments, affect our ability to function or enjoy life. Many of them are related to food and nutrition – from food allergies and intolerances, over dental and gut health, to the non-communicable diseases, like diabetes, cancers, cardiovascular, and respiratory diseases.

Unhealthy diet and physical inactivity, together with tobacco and alcohol use, are the main risk factors for non-communicable diseases, the largest public health burden of the 21st century.
